Your Body Is Doing Something Extraordinary
The Most Beautiful Version of You Is Happening Right Now
There is a version of you that exists only for a few months. She is round and luminous and quietly powerful in a way that has nothing to do with how you feel on any given morning. She is carrying an entire person. She deserves to be photographed.
Maternity photography in the style of boudoir is not about looking a certain way. It is about having proof - real, beautiful, undeniable proof - that this happened. That you did this. That your body, at this exact moment in time, was extraordinary.
We have photographed over 1,500 women at Blush Boudoir, most of them in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, and the ones who come in most self-conscious almost always leave the most stunned. Not because we worked any magic, but because the camera simply told the truth.
When to Book Your Maternity Photography Session
The sweet spot is somewhere between 28 and 34 weeks. Your bump is beautifully full, you're still comfortable moving around the studio, and there's enough runway before your due date that we're not racing the calendar.
Earlier than 28 weeks can work depending on how you're carrying, but the curves that make maternity photography so striking tend to arrive in the third trimester. Later than 34 weeks is still possible, but we'd encourage you not to wait - babies have their own timelines.
Book your session as soon as you're ready to think about it. We can always adjust the date as your pregnancy progresses. What we can't do is go back.
"I Don't Feel Like Myself Right Now"
We hear this more than almost anything else. And we understand it completely — pregnancy does things to your body that can feel foreign, uncomfortable, and anything but photogenic on an ordinary Tuesday.
A session at Blush is not an ordinary Tuesday.
Our all-female team has spent years learning how to photograph pregnant bodies in ways that are genuinely flattering - not by hiding anything, but by celebrating exactly what's there. The curve of a bump in soft light. The way your hands rest on your belly without thinking. The expression on your face when you forget there's a camera in the room.
You don't need to feel beautiful walking in. That tends to happen on its own.
What to Wear for Your Maternity Boudoir Session
Less is almost always more. The simplest looks - a soft wrap, a bodysuit, delicate lace, nothing at all - tend to produce the most timeless images. Clothing that competes with the bump rarely wins.
A few things that photograph beautifully: a flowy robe worn open, simple white or nude lingerie, a fitted bodysuit that shows your shape, or a long flowing skirt paired with nothing on top. Earth tones, creams, and soft blushes tend to feel most at home in our studio.
Bring two or three options and we'll help you choose in person. And if you're not sure what you own works, it probably does. Bring it anyway. Some of our favorite images have come from pieces our clients almost left at home.
